The story of this picture:
I was on an automobile trip heading to The Dalles, Oregon.
So, naturally, I chose the to take an inland route through Klamath
Falls, and up to Bend for the night.
The evening was still young, the daylight still bright so a walk in
the park seemed in order.
Drake Park is on the east bank of the Deschutes River and has a
nice, paved walking trail.
Spotting a few ducks doing ducky things on the water, I had camera
in hand.
Rounding a bend, I spotted a small boy on a large rock jutting out
into the river.
He, too, was fascinated by the ducks. The ducks were rather
wary and kept their distance.
I was quick to decide that this was a good photo-op.

In my composing the picture:
I composed the photo to show the boy and the ducks.
The reflections on the water, the ripples around the ducks and the
sharp focus on the boy
make this a picture that talks to me about youthful wonder of the
natural world.
