This is one of My Very Favorite Photos Because it Speaks to Me

I got this picture of a Man and The Golden Gate Bridge on March 22, 2015.

The story of this picture:

I took this photo near Crissy Field in San Francisco, California.
A lone person sitting on a bench looking out over the bay.
I imagine this to be a gentleman, perhaps advanced in age, reflecting back about his life.

The sailboats under the bridge may represent to him adventures in his youth,
now distant and no longer within his reach.

As usual, the San Francisco fog is encroaching as the afternoon wears on.
I wonder if this symbolizes his waning years slowly, relentlessly enveloping him.

In my composing the picture:

I chose to frame the scene with the bordering and overhanging trees
to narrow the focus of attention to the man on the bench
and maybe to add a bit of shadow, sadness and a little gloom to the composition.

There was another person in the photo, also taking a picture, kneeling by the edge of the water beneath the left tower.
I deemed that distracting from the feeling I was interested in for the picture and was able to Photoshop him out.
